Sewing through space

Just as Newcastle is a city undergoing change, Sewing through space is an installation that uses space as its subject. Literally sewing into the space to alter the surrounding architecture, the different qualities of the floor, walls and ceiling are highlighted as an integral part of the work. Experimentation with, and transformation of, a variety of materials is employed to make or manipulate the space and overturn familiar perceptions of everyday features.
