Jennifer Douglas, Floor 5.12

Jennifer Douglas’ site-specific work uses everyday materials to explore the qualities and characteristics of a particular space.

Past works have employed ephemeral materials such as wool, string and adhesive tape to create illusionary forms – stretching them across large spaces, wrapping and transforming existing architectural features.

The building up of the forms is an organic and ritualistic process – an exploration that is of equal importance to the final outcome. For ‘Space Between Us’ Douglas has cast a section of well-worn flooring within the venue, simultaneously revealing and concealing different aspects of the building’s character and its history.
