In a city full of architectural landmarks, this photographic and text installation engages with two more marginal sites – St Mary’s Well and Chapel in Jesmond Dene, Newcastle upon Tyne. These secretive ruins have become a kind of personal memorial site or shrine, a place where modern narratives live in parallel with ancient ones. Ephemeral interventions have been made in both sites, the documentation of which then forms a gallery exhibition.
