Attaya Projects: Cycles of Brass

Attaya Projects artists Alexander Berman, Lalya Gaye and Filip Strebeyko will talk about the making and meaning of the installation, ‘Cycles of Brass’, as well as discuss the use of scientific and engineering processes in the making of artworks. Berman and Strebeyko will be travelling from Gothenburg, Sweden for the installation and for this talk.

Narbi Price talks to filmmaker Maxy Bianco about issues around Maxy’s recent Channel 4 Random Acts commission, Another England, a series of four films exploring a town on the edges of English society, and considers the spaces between realism and fantasy that pervade both of their work.

The Late Shows 2014

Stu Herring: Brick vessel

Saturday 17 May 2014, 7-11pm


Coinciding with the last day of his exhibition at the gallery, Existence Experiments, Herring will be building a circular wall around himself until he is entirely cut off from the audience. ‘Brick vessel’ is the latest of Herring’s works to explore through ritualistic acts his ongoing investigation of notions of personal freedom.

This strange conspiracy theory dates back to the Victorian period, but it has recently entered wider popular culture through the film Anonymous, in which the real author is revealed to be the Edward de Vere, the Earl of Oxford.

A Walk Announced

In ‘A Walk Announced’, Zoë Anderson attempts to bypass the limitations of representation of landscape, particularly within a gallery context, by dispensing with the artifice of any kind of pictorial, auditory or verbal description, and to access the sublime nature of the experience through what Anderson calls ‘framed silence’.
